Professor Andy Hardy is Chief Executive Officer of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW), one of the largest tertiary acute Trusts in England, with an annual turnover of £1billion.
Andy was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2010. For the six years prior to that he was Chief Finance Officer of UHCW, as well as Deputy Chief Executive Officer from 2008-2010.

- Chair of Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (from March 2023)
- Chair of West Midlands Cancer Alliance
- NHS Providers
- Health Innovation Network, West Midlands
- Warwick Business School Faculty Advisory Board
- NHS Elect
- Beamtree Global Impact Committee.
- Coventry University’s Vice Chancellor’s Health Advisory Board (from April 2023)
In January 2016 Andy was appointed Professor of Industry at the University of Warwick and in 2022 awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration at Coventry University in recognition of his leadership and significant contribution to healthcare provision across Coventry and Warwickshire. In April 2023 he accepted the appointment of Professor for the Vice Chancellor’s Health Advisory Board, Coventry University.

- Andy is also a Director of Albany Theatre Trust, Coventry, and a Trustee of ExtraCare.
In August 2023, Andy was appointed as Deputy Chair for the newly established National Improvement Board. Working closely with Chair, David Fillingham CBE, he leads and supports the identification and delivery of national improvement priorities in line with NHS IMPACT and associated improvement approaches.
