Beamtree hosted international healthcare leaders at inaugural conference
Earlier this year, Beamtree’s Global Health Comparators Program held their inaugural conference in Rome on 13 and 14 March. The Global Health Comparators conference brought together over 50 senior hospital leaders from the NHS, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and the USA.
During several panels, delegates candidly shared with each other the challenges their health systems are facing. There were some powerful stories as panellists talked about COVID-19 shining a light on health inequalities and the need to engage communities in their own care. Frank Rademakers, from UZLeuven in Belgium, was the keynote speaker and he provided a futuristic view of the potential for healthcare data to integrate data from apps, wearables and social media with medical records and personal data to create ‘digital twins and a personalised point of care’.
The feedback from the delegates was excellent and we came away with some great ideas to add to the roadmap for Global Health Comparators. At the end of the two days, delegates wholeheartedly agreed the Global Health Comparators program provides a unique opportunity for members to work together to solve the joint challenges facing healthcare and they are excited to get started. Overall, it was a fantastic way to start the new iteration of the GHC program.
